Hi!
I'm Dawn Nuttall, a film production professional based in Connecticut, born and raised in Utah. I have always been passionate about filmmaking, ever since I was a child filming family camping trips in the desert with my first camcorder. The little things that would catch your eye as a child never left my brain, and I felt a deep desire to document them in the same way I saw them.

This calling led me to Quinnipiac University in my early adult years, where I studied Film, Television and Media arts for 4 years. I made many student short films, held art exhibitions of my works, and worked as a camera operator for my university. As a freshman, I was the youngest person ever to attend the Cannes Film Festival through Quinnipiac. As a senior, I attended the Sundance Film Festival and worked as the co-writer, production designer, and editor of my capstone film. I learned from some of the best industry professionals, and cultivated my skills as a filmmaker and an artist.
After completing my Bachelors, I decided to continue to pursue that childhood calling. I now produce short films with my peers, and work as a freelance photographer and videographer. I have often been called the swiss army knife on set, because of my willingness to take on the tasks no one else will. I have a strong eagerness to learn and master new skills that allow me to solve any problem that might come my way. I am extremely reliable when it comes to weekly deliverables, and I pride myself on going above and beyond with every task that comes my way.

I worked as a live broadcast camera operator for Quinnipiac University. I'd work all sorts of sports games for the university and the community. I took creative direction through my headset, while also offering up my own shots and angles for use.
I wrote, edited, and production designed a short student film titled Maybe This is Milo. It's a queer-horror set in 2003 in the wintery mountains of Vermont. The film is just about to begin it's festival run.
I organized all of the media equipment for a company called Boostability. As well as taking headshots for employees, and videoing content for their website and socials. I created an inventory and labelling system for all of their equipment so they would have accessible access to it.
I worked as an intern under the American Pavilion for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. I networked with industry professionals, ensured that the hospitality in the tent was impeccable, and set up filmmaking literature for the guests to read.
I manned the camera for live broadcasts with potential clients for Little Giant Ladder Systems. We had a large studio set for live calls with clients looking to partner with the brand. I would man the cameras and take creative direction through an earpiece. I also took photos and videos for advertisements and marketing.

Since I was a child. But if you want a real answer, I'd say about 5-6 years
All kinds! I specialize in video editing for short-form and long-form content, as well as videography. I also work in photography and production design, whether for professional projects or personal creative work.
I am based in the New Haven CT area. But I do have a vehicle, and I absolutely love road trips.
One of my biggest inspirations is my university advisor, Ash Brandon. She has built a career in the industry and continues to inspire me. (Don't tell her I said that though)
Who's asking? Just kidding, absolutely! I'd love to hear about your project. Let's get in touch!
